Late-season ridge crossings

Snow bridges over the upper couloir are thinning fast in the afternoon sun. Plan the crossing before 9am and keep the rope short on the traverse. Two parties reported soft collapses near the saddle last week; nothing serious, but worth the early start.

Water on the east approach

The seasonal creek below the second bench is running again after the rains. Treat everything above the meadow — the cattle range starts just past the fence line.
